Robert G. Wilkin, P.E., Senior Associate

In order to repair buildings, you have to understand how they are constructed. In order to fix leaks, you also have to think like a drop of water.

RGWRobert G. Wilkin, P.E., applies the knowledge he has accumulated in over 46 years as a civil engineer to identify problems in existing structures and to make the construction process more cost efficient for the owner.  He has been with CBI for 19 years and is constantly refining his skills.  He is known at CBI as the Water Mitigation Specialist.  His extensive knowledge of contemporary and historic construction materials has helped him to become proficient in the evaluation and restoration of buildings of all types and ages, with an emphasis on cost-effective solutions that will perform optimally.

 

Steven A. Watchorn, A.I.A., LEED AP BD+C, Associate & Senior Project Manager

The marriage of structure and form result in the finest architecture; architects should stress mastery of technology; and successful projects are due to a team concept inclusive of all participants.

SAWSteven Watchorn is experienced and trained in the fields of Architecture, Planning and Urban Design.  His unique background makes him a valuable asset to our team in site planning, building analysis, design and project management.  He is accomplished in all aspects of architectural practice, from schematic design through the production of working drawings and construction administration for multi-million dollar facilities.

Arno L. Skalski, Assoc. A.I.A., LEED AP – Director of Building Technology

ALSArno L. Skalski is a diverse, skilled professional with more than 26 years experience in the building design, engineering and construction industry. He is the head of CBI’s Building Technology Division and responsibilities include project management for architectural and engineering design projects with an emphasis in building systems, building design technology and historical restoration.  His effective management skills help him to meet strict deadlines and budgets while maintaining scope and quality of the project.  Mr. Skalski is also in charge of expanding markets, improving quality control and quality assurance, and training and mentoring staff. His prior experience focused on forensic science, building envelope design, and construction management. He also worked in the roofing manufacturing industry as a technical review specialist.

DZDanielle Quarantello, Controller / Business Manager

Danielle is CBI’s Controller and Business Manager with over 20 years of accounting and management experience.  She manages all accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, human resources, benefits, and office administration.  Her management and accounting skills have lead CBI to a new level of organizational efficiency.

Andrea M. Willett, A.I.A., LEED AP BD+C, Project Manager

AMWAndrea Willett is a highly skilled and experienced Architect and Project Manager with CBI.  With over twenty-eight years of experience, she is a thoughtful designer who thoroughly enjoys each aspect of a project from start to finish.  She strives to bring clarity to each one of her projects so that all involved parties are always on the same page.  One of the challenges that she enjoys is working with her clients to help anticipate different problems that may emerge during each phase of the design and construction process.  Ms. Willett has a diverse list professional design experience including public, historic, residential (single, multi-family and affordable housing), and commercial projects, to name a few.  Most recently, she worked on a preservation project for the historic Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth, MA which included installing waterproofing over the aging Guastavino tile vaulted ceiling in the rare books library and Executive Director’s office.  She managed the investigation and repair recommendation of the unusual structural support system.  Ms. Willett was in charge of putting the bid documents together and working with the Massachusetts Historical Commission to make sure the work met their standards as the Pilgrim Society had been awarded a grant towards the work.  The design was executed, the MHC construction document review process was aligned with budget, the bid process, and construction through the winter months completed the project within the MGH fiscal grant cycle.  

Steven A. McDermott, Field Engineer

When the owner, contractor, and engineer work as a team, it is easier to finish the job.

SAMStephen A. McDermott joined CBI Consulting fresh out of school 26 years ago to assist the firm during forensic investigations and to hone his engineering skills.  He is responsible for design of construction documents for a range of new and existing commercial and residential projects, which involve structural engineering, waterproofing evaluation, building envelope study, and field observation for specific projects.  Mr. McDermott assembles cost estimates of proposed repairs for clients in addition to coordinating the project with the client and appropriate licensed contractors.  He works as a jack of all trades to provide the Principals with enough information to properly evaluate various structures.

Alex Matthews, A.I.A., LEED AP, Architect/Project Manager

Alex is not satisfied with what; and believes that the why and the how are the keys to project success.  He is a highly organized Project Manager with a passion for learning and growth in architecture and building science.  He joins us with a strong background in project management for architecture and building enclosure design for new construction and renovation projects.  He is familiar with commercial, institutional, and residential sectors.  Project set up, design and material choices and systems, document management and consultant management are all tasks that Alex can successfully coordinate as part of CBI’s design team.

Rick Almeida, A.I.A., NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, Architect/Project Manager

Rick  is a highly experienced Project Manager and has experience in all aspects of project management and through all project phases including planning, design, and construction.  He offers disciplined management skills and an ability to communicate well with project stakeholders.  He is outstanding at managing the project schedule and budget, and exceeding client goals and expectations.  Rick has extensive experience working on new public safety buildings and educational facilities with construction costs ranging from $3m – $65m.  He is responsible for the development of feasibility studies including subsequent design phases through construction administration and conducted end user design meetings, participated in community and client presentations, and provided analysis and implementation of High Performance and Green initiatives.  Rick also convened with local, state and federal Regulatory Agencies; reconciled project’s budget, schedule and benchmarks.

Rich Donahoe, A.I.A., LEED AP, Architect/Project Manager

Rich is a highly experienced design professional with diverse experience in architecture, project management, building envelope, technical coordination, QA/QC, contract documents, and construction administration.  His many years as a Project Manager and as an architectural sales representative has provided him with disciplined management skills and an ability to communicate well with project stakeholders.  He is outstanding at managing the project schedule and budget, and exceeding client goals and expectations.  Rich has extensive experience working on new construction of large-scale medical buildings and managing projects for custom glass and aluminum curtainwall systems, custom storefront, aluminum windows and composite aluminum panel systems.  He has successful experience in managing comprehensive project teams including the CADD/Revit team interface with the rest of the design team.

Jennifer dos Santos, Assoc. A.I.A., Project Manager

Jenne has more than 13 years of professional experience in the design and construction industries, specializes in communication, Massachusetts public bidding and procurement regulations, contract review and administration, scheduling, budget management and cost controls.  Ms. dos Santos has administered contracts for the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), the MA Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), as well as many municipalities and state agencies.  Ms. dos Santos is able to combine her experience in public design and construction with her ability to keep multiple parties organized, on budget, and on schedule to bring many of CBI’s projects to successful completion for our clients.

Greg K. Christensen, Assoc. A.I.A., Project Manager 

GKCGreg Christensen is a highly experienced, detail-oriented Designer and Project Manager with over twenty years of Architectural Design experience and complemented by and educational background in both Architecture and Business Administration.  His experience has primarily included municipal repair, renovation and new construction, commercial and residential design, as well as construction document production and drafting.  Greg’s diverse experience and ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all participants brings a comprehensive viewpoint to every project that allows him to process and understand the perspectives of all members of a project team, while maintaining the priorities of the Owner or end-user.

Erik A. Woodin, Project Manager/Building Envelope Engineer

eaw1Erik Woodin is a Building Envelope Engineer in CBI’s Building Technology Division.  Erik has extensive experience with standardized building envelope assemblies testing including water and air infiltration testing of fixed and operable window systems, storefronts and curtainwall systems and vector mapping and infrared scanning of roofing systems.  Erik performs thorough and thoughtful building envelope conditions assessments, leak source investigations and assists with the design of creative repair solutions.  With his graduate degree in Green Building & Design his focus is on creating more energy-efficient existing buildings.

Elizabeth Cagle, Assoc. A.I.A., CDT, Assistant Project Manager

Elizabeth has worked on a variety of projects in both her academic and professional career that have further solidified her interest in creating beautiful spaces while still adhering to energy efficient standards.  She also has a passion for using architecture as tool to interlock spatial functionality, aesthetics, and human perception.  Elizabeth has experience in architectural and graphic design, construction detailing, designing according to and checking compliance with applicable accessibility and building codes, and is adept at several software used for efficiently developing and communicating design decisions.  She has assisted in the design of many building types, including K-12 schools, offices, and multi-family residential.  Elizabeth is also skilled in Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and Google Sketch.

Li Yang, Assistant Project Manager

Li has been part of CBI’s architectural team for over two years and has strong knowledge of building construction including both new construction and renovations, with an emphasis on the building envelope including roofs, windows, and doors.  He is experienced in all phases the design process project from initial field investigations through construction documents.  Li is well versed in a variety of different architectural styles ranging from traditional to contemporary and has excellent attention to detail in his work.  He is also proficient in BIM and uses it on the majority of his projects.

Ed Mercer, Structural Designer

Ed is a motivated, energetic engineer with diverse experience in client relations and communicating technical design in a simplistic, effective form. An organized, thorough, and detail-oriented team member, able to diligently juggle multiple tasks to produce quality results in an efficient and timely manner.
