Robert G. Wilkin, P.E., applies the knowledge he has accumulated in over 46 years as a civil engineer to identify problems in existing structures and to make the construction process more cost efficient for the owner. He has been with CBI for 19 years and is constantly refining his skills. He is known at CBI as the Water Mitigation Specialist. His extensive knowledge of contemporary and historic construction materials has helped him to become proficient in the evaluation and restoration of buildings of all types and ages, with an emphasis on cost-effective solutions that will perform optimally.
Danielle Quarantello, Controller / Business Manager
Danielle is CBI’s Controller and Business Manager with over 20 years of accounting and management experience. She manages all accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, human resources, benefits, and office administration. Her management and accounting skills have lead CBI to a new level of organizational efficiency.
Steven A. McDermott, Field Engineer
When the owner, contractor, and engineer work as a team, it is easier to finish the job.
Stephen A. McDermott joined CBI Consulting fresh out of school 26 years ago to assist the firm during forensic investigations and to hone his engineering skills. He is responsible for design of construction documents for a range of new and existing commercial and residential projects, which involve structural engineering, waterproofing evaluation, building envelope study, and field observation for specific projects. Mr. McDermott assembles cost estimates of proposed repairs for clients in addition to coordinating the project with the client and appropriate licensed contractors. He works as a jack of all trades to provide the Principals with enough information to properly evaluate various structures.
Rick Almeida, A.I.A., NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, Architect/Project Manager
Rick is a highly experienced Project Manager and has experience in all aspects of project management and through all project phases including planning, design, and construction. He offers disciplined management skills and an ability to communicate well with project stakeholders. He is outstanding at managing the project schedule and budget, and exceeding client goals and expectations. Rick has extensive experience working on new public safety buildings and educational facilities with construction costs ranging from $3m – $65m. He is responsible for the development of feasibility studies including subsequent design phases through construction administration and conducted end user design meetings, participated in community and client presentations, and provided analysis and implementation of High Performance and Green initiatives. Rick also convened with local, state and federal Regulatory Agencies; reconciled project’s budget, schedule and benchmarks.
Rich is a highly experienced design professional with diverse experience in architecture, project management, building envelope, technical coordination, QA/QC, contract documents, and construction administration. His many years as a Project Manager and as an architectural sales representative has provided him with disciplined management skills and an ability to communicate well with project stakeholders. He is outstanding at managing the project schedule and budget, and exceeding client goals and expectations. Rich has extensive experience working on new construction of large-scale medical buildings and managing projects for custom glass and aluminum curtainwall systems, custom storefront, aluminum windows and composite aluminum panel systems. He has successful experience in managing comprehensive project teams including the CADD/Revit team interface with the rest of the design team.
Stuart Mitchell, P.E., Senior Project Manager
With over 13 years of professional experience in construction consulting, Stuart has played a leading role on a wide variety of commercial, multi-family residential, healthcare, transportation, and institutional projects across the nation. He has collaborated on and managed a wide range of consulting and commissioning services focusing on risk mitigation in designing air/water/vapor/thermal control layers of materials and systems, and ensuring compatibility with project requirements. As a Senior Consultant in the Boston office, Mr. Mitchell leads technical efforts, helps grow the business, and manages the new construction team in New England.
Mr. Mitchell excels in leading teams in all aspects of building enclosure consulting and commissioning – from schematic concept and design development, through the construction document phase, to completed construction. His consistent contact with clients paired with his commitment to quality control and alignment of systems, deliverables, and communications ensures an exceptional client experience and careful management of projects as they progress.
Jennifer dos Santos, MCPPO, CDT, Assoc. A.I.A., Project Manager
Jenne has more than 13 years of professional experience in the design and construction industries, specializes in communication, Massachusetts public bidding and procurement regulations, contract review and administration, scheduling, budget management and cost controls. Ms. dos Santos has administered contracts for the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), the MA Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), as well as many municipalities and state agencies. Ms. dos Santos is able to combine her experience in public design and construction with her ability to keep multiple parties organized, on budget, and on schedule to bring many of CBI’s projects to successful completion for our clients.
Greg K. Christensen, Assoc. A.I.A., Project Manager
Greg Christensen is a highly experienced, detail-oriented Designer and Project Manager with over twenty years of Architectural Design experience and complemented by and educational background in both Architecture and Business Administration. His experience has primarily included municipal repair, renovation and new construction, commercial and residential design, as well as construction document production and drafting. Greg’s diverse experience and ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all participants brings a comprehensive viewpoint to every project that allows him to process and understand the perspectives of all members of a project team, while maintaining the priorities of the Owner or end-user.
Erik A. Woodin, Project Manager/Building Envelope Engineer
Erik Woodin is a Building Envelope Engineer in CBI’s Building Technology Division. Erik has extensive experience with standardized building envelope assemblies testing including water and air infiltration testing of fixed and operable window systems, storefronts and curtainwall systems and vector mapping and infrared scanning of roofing systems. Erik performs thorough and thoughtful building envelope conditions assessments, leak source investigations and assists with the design of creative repair solutions. With his graduate degree in Green Building & Design his focus is on creating more energy-efficient existing buildings.
Brenda is a Senior Inspector at CBI. She is a graduate of Syracuse University where she earned a BS in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Geography. Ms. Lam’s experience includes green infrastructure design, environmental compliance and remediation, and stormwater best management practices, water resources, water quality analysis and modeling, and construction project management. Her skill set includes ESRI GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble GPS technology, and environmental field sampling.
Conor Driscoll, Senior Inspector
Conor joined CBI/Vidaris as an Inspector in 2016. His experience in the area of new construction includes unitized window wall systems, open-jointed metal rainscreen systems, and masonry. Mr. Driscoll’s project involvement includes conducting leak investigations and providing construction administration assistance in special inspections projects. Mr. Driscoll has prior experience with HPCs and UHPCs, focusing on the relationship between materiality and design, with an emphasis on the versatility and resiliency of emerging concrete technologies through his research role at CEMEX Concrete Research Group AG. While interning with MassDOT, principle tasks included quality control and quality assurance testing, safety assurance, site monitoring, and preventative maintenance oversight.
Ed is a motivated, energetic engineer with diverse experience in client relations and communicating technical design in a simplistic, effective form. An organized, thorough, and detail-oriented team member, able to diligently juggle multiple tasks to produce quality results in an efficient and timely manner.
Monica Maganzini, Assoc. A.I.A., Assistant Project Manager
Monica has worked on a multitude of projects both during her professional career at CBI, and in the academic setting. She has an interest in utilizing existing buildings regarding both adaptive interventions and historic preservation. Monica enjoys human comfort and functionality over form and believes in logical progression within buildings. She has experience in designing in accordance with building codes and accessibility requirements. She is well versed in all project phases, from investigation and field work to Construction Administration. Monica is highly experienced in producing drawing sets and adhering to graphic standards. She is also extremely proficient in AutoCAD and Revit and enjoys working with the production personnel to generate graphic and office standards.
