THE CHALLENGE
The existing precast concrete parking garage at Boston College’s Alumni Stadium, originally constructed in the 1970’s, was in fair to poor condition with areas of deteriorated concrete and failed expansion joints at the existing concrete ramps and stairwells.
CBI’S SOLUTION
CBI conducted field surveys, physical exploration and tests on the existing concrete. CBI subsequently provided Boston College with a phased repair program for the garage. As a result of this study, each year since 2005, CBI has prepared plans and specifications for the complete repair and restoration of the ramps and stair #1 including concrete repair, epoxy injection, epoxy broadcast membrane, expansion joints, steel stair replacement, and masonry repairs.
