THE CHALLENGE
This project was performed under a House Doctor contract for repairs and renovations of various Massachusetts Trial Courts.
CBI was engaged to conduct a Department of Energy Resources (DOER) Feasibility Study at the Uxbridge and Westborough Trial Court Buildings in order for the Owner to submit for an energy grant from DOER.
CBI’S SOLUTION
The DOER Feasibility Study included the review of existing mechanical and electrical equipment and the feasibility of converting the existing HVAC to an air source heat pump. The study also included Energy Use Analysis, Energy Performance Summary, Clean Energy Opportunities.
In the realm of public buildings the results found were not major, however, since these courthouses are relatively small, the results are significant because they represent a potential savings of approximately 40%.
The CBI team also met with the Owners to help with the DOER Grant Program Application.
